Neste projecto, foram gravados dois álbuns e dados vários concertos ao vivo em todo o país, e até em Espanha. Off The Lip, a local Aljezur Band that came to fame after their appearance in national TV during the summer of 2012
Decided to form a band after a few jam sessions, we realized that apart from having fun we could get somewhere with our music.
Singer/Songwriter and Guitarrist Jack Golds, originally from Barnstaple, Devon, UK left his homeland with his family at a young age to travel Europe until finally settling in Portugal. After growing up in an inspiring environment he began writing and recording in 2011. Since then has embraced every opportunity to have fun, from surfing, spearfishing and lifeguarding on the local beaches to playing with the unique selection of musicians that pass his way.
Percussionist/Composer Marcelo Oliveira, grew up in Aljezur’s beautiful countryside, experiencing the local laidback lifestyle firsthand. Started studying music at the age of 11, aiming evermore towards classical percussion, since then has played for Aljezur and Lagos Philharmonic Band, percussion ensembles and various orchestras. Began composing after leaving Music College and since then has been making a living with his hands.
Born in West London, Ricky played in a number of bands before starting his own architectural joinery business, working as a roadie and lighting technician in the evenings and on weekends. On moving to the western Algarve in 2008, Ricky was approached to play for local bands and enjoyed the vibrant music scene. He picked up the bass after originally helping Off The Lip in a technical capacity.
In short we are a band from Aljezur that plays original songs which are influenced by surf, sun and good times spent with friends and family.
“Living the Life we Love creating and playing music.”

Frankie Chavez is one of the most promising talents of the new Portuguese music; he has been referred to as the latest Blues revelation of southern Europe. His music combines a diverse array of sounds resulting in a Blues/Folk composed by clean sounds and others more raw and psychedelic.
Although one can identify many different musical influences (Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Kelly Joe Phelps, Ry Cooder) it is difficult to find one single word to define his music. This sets him with a unique and distinctive style.
A multi-instrumentalist, Frankie Chavez uses several guitars, with different tunings, personalized drums and a wide number of effect pedals. When he overlaps different guitar layers with a loop station, he creates a rich and aggressive sonority, where nothing is left out of place. Through his warm tone and strikingly intimate lyrics he creates a deep closeness with the listeners.

It was in the mid Eighties when Ingo & Backra first got in touch with dancehallmusic through a friend who brought some soundsystem cassettes with him from Jamaica, after they had already been listening to Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and others. They were both fascinated by this raw style of music coming from this small island far away in the caribbean Sea, and became very interested in Jamaican culture. In 1992 Reggaemusic was hard to find in Germany, so they decided to promote Dancehallmusic in their hometown Cologne. They first started to build up their own system and named it "Pow Pow" (after two gunshots, wich marked a salute in dancehalls in Jamaica). In the same year they travelled to Jamaica (together with crewmember and artist Gentleman) to find out more about the music they adore so much. Staying in Mobay first, they got introduced to a veteran sound named "King-a-tone", wich was a popular set in the early days in Jamaica. One day, the veterans decided to show the "whities" how dancehall used to be and how it started. The veterans got their old set out, and played very rare foundation stuff. It was a unforgetable night for the Germans. On the same trip Gentleman had his first appearance on stage, entering a talentshow in Mobay (Glen Devon), and he mashed the place together with German singer Chicken George. Before they got back to Germany the first dubplate specials were voiced, and the enthusiasm was big and the roots were set to become a soundsystem of bigger size, and take the music further in their own country.
